What is a Spirit Run?
This is a fun, family friendly event intended for walkers and runners of all ages and abilities. It is not a timed event, but instead the purpose is to boost Tiger Spirit and kick off Homecoming Week 2015!
What is included with my registration fee?
An official race t-shirt, a color packet for the color explosion at the finish of the race and an afternoon of fun!
Do I have to run?
No! We welcome walkers and runners of all ages and abilities. Strollers are encouraged for young children.
Are pets allowed?
Sorry, no.
What should I wear?
Register early (before August 24th) and we will make sure you have an official race t-shirt. You pick the rest, but we encourage you to show your Tiger Spirit! Remember, anything you wear will get "colored".
What is the color made of and is it safe?
The color is made of food grade cornstarch and food grade food coloring.
Is the color permanent?
You may want to shake off the color before you get in your car and you will need a shower or two to get all of the color off of your skin and out of your hair. If you want to keep the color in your shirt/clothes as a souvenir of the race, you can set the color by spraying it with vinegar and then ironing. The colors will fade with washing.
Are phones and cameras safe in the color zones?
Bring your phone or camera to create memories of the event, but we recommend putting them in a plastic bag.
Who does the Spirit Run benefit?
All proceeds from the Spirit run go the Tailtwisters. The Spencer Tailtwister Booster Club was formed in 1981 with the purpose of maintaining quality athletic programs with all funds raised benefiting Spencer Tiger Athletic Programs. So in a nutshell, all Tiger athletes benefit!
If I don't want to walk or run, can I still be involved?
Absolutely! We need about 45 volunteers to make this event a success. Sign up to help at VolunteerSpot.com
What if it rains?
Hopefully Mother Nature will cooperate, but if she doesn't, the race will be cancelled. We will not cash any checks prior to the race.
What happens after I finish the race?
Don't miss the color explosion! Use your color packet at the finale for a color explosion and fill the sky with Tiger Spirit!
